It's been almost two months since Path of Fire launched and I haven't seen anybody write about this yet but there's a small unused map instance that we never got to visit.

Facts:

• It shares the same data file as Kesho / Domain of the Lost / The first fight with Balthazar
• There are two "rooms" that are walled off with invisible walls and are separated by a portal
• A second portal can be found in the smaller "room"
• In the north western corner of the map there's a very basic copy of Skritt's Audience making it possible to place it on the world map.

As you probably have noticed ArenaNet updated the world map in the latest patch and they've made some subtle and not so subtle changes to it. I've already updated my Historical Guide with the updated files so you can get an idea what's there.

Updated tiles

The map uses a tile system of 512x512 pixel images that are placed next to each other to form a map, in this update they changed about 150 of them:

Charr Homelands

A very subtle change was made to the northern part of the map, right at the spot where Kralkatorrik was sleeping for thousands of years.

 As some might have noticed the Binding of Ipos and its precursors have a lot of text written on them. At first glance it looks like regular New Krytan but on closer inspection it's nothing alike. I've taken the time to analyze all textures and it looks like these are unique characters that make up different words.

I've also spent some time on separating some of these characters and ran them through deciphering tools with mixed but promising results.

Now I think it would be awesome for anybody interested in this stuff to try and help me out to decode this, because up till now we haven't seen a new language this close to being translatable since the launch of the game (Mursaat is still a giant mystery) and it might hold some cool lore!

By now you probably know the drill, almost every Tuesday a lot of "will there be a patch today?" or "when will the patch go live?" posts show up on the forums, discord and reddit. For me it's very easy to tell when the next major patch will most like go live based on gemstore items and previous updates and I still had my old PoF countdown page laying around collecting dust. So I decided to retrofit it to a patch countdown page that I will try to keep up to date as much as possible.

FAQ:

• What's the difference between "will be" and "is expected"?
  • Will be: indicates a confirmed date (like living season episode or event)
  • Is expected: is not confirmed
• Does this also include smaller patches like bug fixes?
  • No, those can't be predicted
• Can you display what will be in the patch?
  • No, I only can estimate when, not what.

  • No, that would be impossible

Yesterday's patch made a rather odd change to a lot of older models, almost every single chair, bench and couch received an update in which they added anchor points right where a character could possibly sit (the same kind of anchor points the Shrouded Bench of the Final Judge uses).

So are we're finally going to get functional chairs in the near future? Maybe. But as with all data-mined content take it with a grain of salt.
